Q. How does book renewals work?

Book Renewals -

We have a user-friendly step-by-step tutorial that walks you through the process! It has a live web page with the catalog with easy to follow instructions. Click the link below.

1. Go to either
   • the Classic Catalog home page (https://libcat.hc.edu), or
   • CloudSearch (on the library home page at https://hc.edu/library) - This is similar to the Classic Catalog experience. 
2. Login with your library PIN in the upper right-hand portion of the screen or click the Account button. If you do not know your library PIN, you can verify your identity with the Circulation Desk at 281-649-3304 and receive your PIN. A successful logon will show your name in the upper right-hand corner.
3. Click the My Account button. You can renew your items here, change your address and phone number, or change your PIN.

NOTE: Please be aware that the library PIN only relates to book renewals! It has nothing to do with database access. (See link below for more about database access.)

Items will renew if you have not yet reached the limit. If the limit is reached or you have a problem with your account, you will not be able to renew. If you have any problems renewing, please call the Circulation Desk at 281-649-3304.
