As far as I know, the school does not provide antivirus software to students as of this writing. I suggest the following. Go to pcmag.com and search [best free antivirus] looking for the most current evaluations and recommendations. Read the tests and make your choice. Most antivius software will also search malware these days but you can use an additional checker at MalWareBytes.org. If you decide to use it, be careful about running both at the same time (both hidden and running in the background) as that can cause some problems. Run antivirus in real-time but turn off the malware checker. Good practice: run a weekly scan of both while you sleep overnight and read the report in the morning. They might take a while to run. Make sure to check regularly that it is staying up to date! Most will automatically download updates but some may not. Do plenty of research and talk to the people at Fry's (Southwest Freeway near Airport) or Micro Center (610 and Hwy. 59 on the southwest side of town).
