Make sure that all the programs are closed. If it still won't close, then restart your computer/laptop. When it goes dark (as if "off"), pull the flash drive out before the computer actually does restart.

Best option: Check out http://cloud.hbu.edu/. You get 1 terabyte of data storage on OneDrive (way more than Google or Dropbox). It's safer, too. You do not receive or give any viruses!
