We do not recommend saving documents in My Documents on desktop computers because "My Documents" is not saved on the campus network. At the moment, your work is likely saved under My Documents on the specific computer on which you originally typed the document. Also, there is a high likelihood that in the future, your work will not be saved on hard drives at all as ITS is looking for ways to improve computer speed and efficiency. We recommend the following:

  • Email the work back to yourself,
  • Save to OneDrive which is under HCU's private cloud. To use OneDrive, go to http://cloud.hc.edu and login with your HCU credentials. You have 1 terabyte of space available.

Our understanding is that the library laptops available from the kiosk WILL be able to save documents in My Documents. That way you can get to the documents folder from any laptop.
