It might be possible that a syllabus would say something about Respondus but the course professor would have the final say as to whether or not it would actually be used. You will often find common language on syllabi required by the school. Testing instructions would most likely say something about its use and give you a link to download and install it on your personal systems. Respondus has two different types of tests: one requiring use of a camera and mic and another that does not require either one. If you attempt to take a test that does require it, you will be prompted to install it.
Note: Respondus is not available on campus systems, in general. The library desktops do have it; however, it only would support tests that do not require extra equipment. The library only has six desktops available. If you have any questions, it would be best to speak with your professor(s).
