Q. How do I reserve a book that has been checked out?

Just go to the Circulation Desk and give them the title of the book and ask them to put it on hold for you. The time will vary as to how soon you will receive it as it depends on when they checked it out. When the book returns, we will tag it and inform you of its arrival. It will be kept for about three days at the Circulation Desk. Books on hold that are not picked up will be returned to the stacks for others use.

To clarify, this is usually called a "hold" (holding a book for you) -- but not to be confused with a library hold in regards to holding you back from graduation because of library issues.
