The HCU live mascot is a Siberian Husky, a female named "Wakiza" which means "Determined Warrior." We call her "Kiza" for short.

Our current live mascot is Kiza III who is a Siberian Husky born on June 14, 2017. Kiza II is retired and living with a previous HCU headmusher.

Mingo is the Husky mascot (human) you see at sporting events and is named in memory of our first live mascot. Mingo was our first mascot. It is interesting to note that Mingo was actually a Samoyed instead of a husky. The original Kiza (1990s) was our first live husky mascot as is our current mascot, Kiza III. You can read more on the mascot history page.
