First, look for any kind of HCU branding. There should be some kind of indicator. It could be the HCU in a blue box, it might be the orange banner, it might be HCU Answers. If you see that, the 99.9% of the time, it will be free barring unusual circumstances.

If you can't get to it via OneSearch, then try going directly to ScienceDirect. Since you already know the article and that it came from ScienceDirect, we can come at from this way. Go back to the library home page, click "Finding Articles with Databases," then click ScienceDirect on the left side of the page. I'm assuming you've already logged in with your HCU username and password. You should see a box in the upper right corner of the window saying, "Brought to you by Houston Christian University, Moody Library."
