This is a problem. Because the student computers get so much use, they have a scrubbing system. If the computer reboots, then anything on that given computer is scrubbed and unretreivable.

I have seen other cases where a computer was not rebooted and the student came in to use the exact same computer and could search for and find the document but it could not be retrieved. I don't know what happened in those cases. Perhaps the student accidentally deleted it.

Suggestions: save the document with HCU's private cloud service at http://cloud.hbu.edu. It has 1 terabyte of space (yes, I said terabyte!) available. If you use the Online version of Word, it will even include auto-saving so you won't have to worry about power outages.
