Q. Can we check out books during semester breaks?

Generally, yes. You do need to bring in proof of registration for the next semester (for instance, the next semester's  class schedule). We just need to verify that you really will be coming back for the next semester. The bigger problem is summer. If you can verify that you are registered for the next Fall semester, then you should be able to checkout items during the summer.
