A student who has graduated from a regionally-accredited high school but who does not meet the minimum standards may be eligible for admission to HCU on a provisional basis. In addition to the regular application process, an applicant may submit as supporting documentation to their application the following: an essay of no less than 250 words as well as two letters of recommendation, including at least one from a teacher, counselor, or other academic official. HCU also gives select provisional admits the opportunity to attend the Summer Launch program and improve their chances for admission and/or a scholarship.

  1. What are the requirements for a student whom is in the 35 percentile of their class? Also, if a student takes the math subject test will this be applied to the viewing process of accepting the student?

  2. If you mean that are in the top 35% of your class, then you would need a 960 or higher on the SAT (and no SAT section below 400 nor essay below 7) for automatic admission. If you are in the 35th percentile (3rd quarter of your class), you would need a 1040 or higher on the SAT (and no SAT section below 400 nor essay below 7) for automatic admission.
