No. This is not true. Your card does not expire during your academic season with HCU. We have heard that there might be a problem with food services accounts. If you have questions about your food service account, then contact the Residence Life Department at 281-649-3100. It would be prudent to check with the the bookstore about any declining balance associated with your card as well, just for peace of mind. If you have trouble with accessing your room, then you need to speak with your RA or the front desk staff at the Lake House. That would be a card problem, not an expiration problem.

The other thing you may be thinking about is graduation. After twelve months, your HCU network account will expire so you will lose access to things OneDrive or the library databases (from home).

  1. Students typically hear that their card expired at the Baugh cashier. This means that the ID associated with the card is not active in the Aramark meal plan system. If a meal plan was recently purchased then the meal plan will be activated within 24 hours. If the student has not paid the housing deposit that would also delay the meal plan activation. After the deposit is paid the meal palm will be activated. Check with Residence Life. We can also ensure that the Aramark system is updated if necessary.
